'Sex with Mae West' (named after one of her Broadway shows) is a jazz
revue, with Corliss Randall taking on West's mantle as a hoochie-coochie
crooner, accompanied by three musicians. Randall is good on the groans
and moans with which West punctuated her songs and gags – corny
even then but all about the va-va-voom delivery. She's even a much
better singer than the original when belting out such inuendo-laden
classics as 'I Like A Man What Takes His Tims', 'Why Don't You Do Right'
and 'Do It Again'. The band is led by Andy Williamson, formerly of
Fringe favourites The Honkin' Hep Cats, so they
also deliver some old Hep Cat tunes. At this point the framing artifice
involving West and her friend and rival W.C. Fields is basically thrown
out – but hey, it's fun anyway. The Scotsman

Bahia Mar she'll do different shows. Friday nights she will perform
a New Orleans-style show with stories that lead into songs. Saturday's
entertainment will go more into cabaret and feature lots of show tunes.
Sunday brunch will be given over to more romantic music.

She was a delightful performer, who together with her backing musicians,
provided superb entertinament for the audience. She bonded extremely
well with them, who from comments after the event, were obviously extremely
appreciative of her performance.
